The  team ……

Guy, Director

In 1997 Guy bought Agrimec from its founders and it has grown into a successful business. Agrimec supplies specialist Agricultural Machinery, primarily to the Cider Apple Industry.

Guy has a particular interest in the spraying side of the business with an in depth knowledge of sprayers. He can advise on the type of nozzle required and the setting up of all types of sprayers to achieve the best possible results. A qualified NSTS MOT tester Guy can test any type of sprayer requiring a test certificate. Guy has attended many supplier courses on maintenance and operation of sprayers including computerised application controllers. Both PA 1 and PA 2C sprayer operating qualifications are on Guy’s CV.

The sales of new and secondhand machinery has recently been taken over by Guy. So he is the person to call for a good deal.

Guy trained in Agriculture at Shropshire Farm Institute, and gained further experience by working on other farms. He also ran his own mixed farm.  This experience gives him a good understanding of his customers’ requirements.

Carol, Company Secretary

Carol joined Agrimec in 1998 on a temporary basis covering sick leave and has been with the company ever since!  She has successfully expanded her role to cover most of the administrative areas of the business.

As a Chartered Accountant, Sage Accounts qualified and with a broad understanding of IT software Carol is a real value to the company. Her responsibilities include, financial control, stock control, staff management and IT issues.

Before working with Agrimec, Carol ran her own book keeping business and attended several IT courses as well as tutoring on IT.  Working in accountancy practices in London and Cheltenham, concentrating on small businesses, Carol has gained an insight to the operations of a wide variety of business.

Claire, Accounts Assistant

Claire joined the team in 2011 and operates the day to day accounting. She is team member in charge of invoicing, payments and credit control.  She is MAAT qualified and is currently working towards her CIMA qualification.

When not working with us at Agrimec, she is making sure others have their books in order with her own bookkeeping business.

Shane, Workshop Engineer

Shane joined the team at Agrimec in 2004 and operates the workshop; he is also on call for machinery breakdowns Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings from April to October.

With over 30 years’ experience in agricultural and horticultural machinery engineering, Shane has developed a wealth of knowledge for all the sprayers, harvesters and mowers that he services.  As a specialist in fabrication he will change machinery to suit customer requirements as well as building specialist machines as required.  He is also our hydraulics expert able to find faults in hydraulic systems and rectifying them. Shane will make hydraulic hoses to suit customers’ patterns in our fully equipped workshop.

Restoring his own classic and vintage farm machinery is Shane’s passion. Prior to working at Agrimec he worked at a local farm maintaining all their equipment, both vintage and current.

An apprenticeship with Morris, Wargent and Wilde started Shane’s career. Also he holds a City & Guilds Certificate in Welding and has attended courses including:

  • Hardi Sprayer Maintenance and Controllers
  • First Aid at Work and Fire Safety

Alan, Workshop Engineer

Alan joined the team at Agrimec in 2015 and operates in the workshop; he is also on call for machinery breakdowns Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings from April to October. Furthermore, he will most likely be the person who does your sprayer MOT as well.

Alan has been in engineering for 40+ years he has worked in both factory and agricultural environments. He has a great knowledge of sprayers and apple harvesters and is a fabrication expert.

Building vintage, grass track and trials motor bikes takes up most of Alan’s spare time. Visiting friends in Poland and gradually learning the language is at the forefront of Alan’s holiday planning.

Alan has a City and Guilds in Agricultural Engineering, has attended several courses run by manufacturers and has taught welding.

If you need a joke Alan will almost certainly provide that!
